Tips for getting the perfect rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and choosing the perfectrental:
- Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and choose a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Hidden Gem: Ocean View Mini Suite 5th Floor has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available online. If not, email or call the property owner before you reserve your rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
During your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- Upon arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
