Tricks and tips to get the very best vacation home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property management companies often offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Finding the perfect vacation home:

  • Start by having your group agree to vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Oceanfront Elegance Mini Suite 5th Floor has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available online. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you love, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Tips for a great stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • During arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to inspire new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
