Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips and tricks:
How to get the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Booking in Fall or Spring months is a great way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. 10th-floor oceanfront condo with pool hot tub, WiFi & central AC has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Note any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if a dispute is filed.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
