Strategies for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental property in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- First, have your group agree to date ranges and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. 10th-floor ocean-view studio with WiFi, AC, pool & hot tub - snowbird-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you book your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
- Does your group require specific amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
Additional considerations:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of difficulties.
- Lock your rental while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
