Strategies to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your vacation home in Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Planning and picking your Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- First, have your family decide on a vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. 10th Floor Oceanfront Snowbird Friendly Studio w\/ AC, Pool\/Hot Tub, WiFi has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If not, email the property owner before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your group is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas during check in. E-mail the host right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
