Finding the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
How to get the best value:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, try shifting your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Finding the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Begin by selecting your trip dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. 10th-floor studio with AC, pool, & hot tub has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before booking the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.
Considerations for your stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- At departure, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
