Strategies for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the most suitable rental for your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain discounts for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Planning and choosing the best Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Start by having your family agree to date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. 12th-floor ocean-view studio with pool, hot tub, AC & WiFi - dog-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible online. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what is optimal for your vacation group.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you crave, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- Make a record of any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are assessed.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
