Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Choosing the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by having your group commit to the best dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. 19th-floor ocean-view studio beach access, pool & hot tub - snowbird-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible online. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Tips for a smooth stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Note any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of issues.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
