How to find the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Finding your perfect rental:
- To get the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose and book a perfectvacation home:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 2 bed, 2 bath Oceanfront! -Ocean's One Resort 1806 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. If not, email or call the property manager before you book the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is right for your vacation family.
- Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.
Considerations for your stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Record any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
