Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation rental experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To get the most suitable rental within your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. 2BR Myrtle Beach Oceanview Condo, Value Price has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the host's contact info to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Record any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of issues.
- Be respectful. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect your property!
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a excellent vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
