Vacation rental tips and tricks:

Money saving strategies:

  • Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is a great way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and choose your Myrtle Beach vacation home:

  • Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 3br Deluxe Condo Family Fun on Myrtle Beach! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you book the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or may be applied to your invoice.

During your stay:

  • Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
  • Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a wonderful stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
