Tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
How to get the best value:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by choosing the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. 3rd Floor Getaway: 1 BDR King Suite Ocean View has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you book your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is right for your group.
- Does your group require special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
Tips for a great stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Make a record of any issues with the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to compel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
