Tips to get the perfect vacation property experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the largest rental home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations and attractions.
Choosing and booking the right Myrtle Beach rental:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and select a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. 6th-floor oceanfront condo with WiFi, pool, hot tub & AC - snowbird-friendly has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or might be applied to your invoice.
More tips for your stay:
- Add the owner's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the host immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few concerns.
- Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property one final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
