Tricks and tips for getting the best vacation home experience:
Finding the best value:
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach rental in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose and book the rightvacation home:
- First, have your family select date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 6th-floor oceanfront condo with WiFi, pool, hot tub & AC - snowbird-friendly has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
More considerations:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the host right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
