How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have discounts for local accommodations and attractions.
Selecting and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Select a group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. 8th-floor ocean-view studio with AC, pool, hot tub & gym - dog-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the rental manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to propel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
