Tips to get the perfect vacation rental experience:

When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Filter your rental search:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. 8th-floor ocean-view studio with AC, pool, hot tub & gym - dog-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • Does your group require particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • If your group is traveling with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • At Check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
