Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:

When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:

  • To get the best value, shift your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Finding the perfect vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • First and foremost, have your group agree to date ranges and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. A311 at the Myrtle Beach Resort: Peaceful Beachside Retreat has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges applied to your invoice.

Tips for your stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Record any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
