How to book the best rental home experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the best rental home within your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities.
- Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Amazing Direct Ocean Views Caravelle Resort - Sleeps 8 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before booking the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Does your group require specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Upon check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
