Tips and Tricks to get the best rental home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, try shifting your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Begin by selecting your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Amazing Ocean View Suite w\/ King Bed + Official On-Site Rental Privileges has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property management company before booking your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
Have a great stay:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of problems.
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the property manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
