Tips and Tricks for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Getting the most from your spending budget:
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Booking in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Make a plan and pick the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- First and foremost, have your group commit to date ranges and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Amazing waterfront views!, AAA Four Diamond Resort, by Luxury Beach Rentals has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally available online. If they are not listed, email the host before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is best for your trip.
- Does your family require special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges applied to your invoice.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Call the host immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of problems.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect your property!
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to propel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
