How to get the best vacation home experience:
Getting the most from your spending budget:
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Select vacation week and maximum budget.
- Oceanfront Luxe Condo
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Advice for a great stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Call the rental manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a great stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
