How to find the best vacation home experience:
How to get the best value:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.
Planning, picking, and booking the bestrental home:
- Choose your vacation dates and max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. AWESOME OCEANFRONT VIEW 1 BEDROOM @ COMPASSCOVE RESORT MANY WATER ATTRACTIONS has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible online. If not, email the property management company before reserving the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
More considerations:
- Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Contact the rental manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to compel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
