Our top Rental property booking tips and tricks:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, try shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some property managers offer special rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose vacation week and budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. AWESOME OCEANFRONT VIEW 1 BEDROOM @ COMPASSCOVE RESORT MANY WATER ATTRACTIONS has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property manager before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your vacation.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
Tips to have a wonderful stay:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- During arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to propel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
