Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Booking your vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your Search:
- Choose your vacation dates and budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Beautiful beachfront condo with pool, hot tub, beach access, & washer\/dryer has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the property management company before you reserve the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you love, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Document any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
