Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips:
Cost saving strategies:
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
How to select the perfect vacation home:
- Start by choosing your trip dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Beautiful beachfront condo with pool, hot tub, beach access, & washer\/dryer has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible online. Otherwise, call the host before you reserve the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you love, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the host immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a great stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
