Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Booking your vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to propel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback.
