Tricks and tips to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the largest rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Some owners offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Filter your rental search:
- Select a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Beautifully Updated Direct Oceanfront King Suite - Monterey Bay 1035 - Sleeps 6 Guests! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the host before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what is right for your group.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
During your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Upon check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
