How to book the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- To get the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to pick the best rental:
- Choose your dates and spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Beautifully Updated Direct Oceanfront King Suite - Monterey Bay 1035 - Sleeps 6 Guests! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible online. If not, contact the host before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
More tips for your stay:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
