How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To book the best rental within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Make a plan and pick your Myrtle Beach rental:
- Select dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Beautifully Updated Direct Oceanfront King Suite - Monterey Bay 1035 - Sleeps 6 Guests! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is usually available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is right for your family.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Advice for a great stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- At Check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
