Strategies to get the perfect rental home experience:

When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:

  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, shift your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • Some owners offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain coupons for local accommodations and attractions.

Planning and picking the best Myrtle Beach vacation home:

  • Select your vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Central Studio Apt - Downtown MB has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before you book your rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your trip.
  • If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you simply love, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More considerations:

  • Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many difficulties.
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. text the property manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
