Strategies to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have deals for local tours and attractions.
Choosing the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Begin by selecting your vacation dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Charming Condo one block from the beach - WR 301 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property management company before reserving the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your stay, note any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the property manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few concerns.
- Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
