Tips to get the perfect vacation rental experience:
Sticking to a budget:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the largest rental within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain money saving offers on nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Finding the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose a group leader, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Charming Condo one block from the beach - WR 301 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Does your group require unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or charges applied to your invoice.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the owner's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- During check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to drive more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
