Tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain offers and deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning, selecting, and booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Coastal Comfort Ocean View 2BDR Condo 17th Floor has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the host before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your group.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Tips to have a terrific stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- During arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
