Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- To find the best value, shift your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have money saving offers on nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Start by selecting trip dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Coastal Escape: 1BR King Suite @ Wyndham Seawatch has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before booking the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your group.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
- Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Tips for a fantastic stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few issues.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Upon arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
