Myrtle Beach rental home booking tips and tricks:
Sticking to your budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, shift your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
How to pick the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- To start, have your group commit to vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. UPDATED WITH CART AND WIFI DOGS CONSIDERED SITE 1672 STARFISH LN has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible online. If not, contact the property owner before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what is suitable for your vacation group.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is bringing pets, search for a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- At Check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to inspire future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
