Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your rental in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have discounts for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Make a plan and pick your Myrtle Beach rental:
- Select vacation dates and max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Dunes Village Resort 203 - Oceanfront! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what configuration is right for your vacation.
- Does your group require unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Document any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if there is a dispute.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
