Our top Rental property booking tips and tricks:
When to book & When to go:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to select the perfect vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Gorgeous Ocean View Double Suite w\/ Balcony + Official On-Site Rental Privileges has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property management company before you reserve the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- Make a record of any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
