Our top Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:
How to get the best value:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose the best vacation rental:
- Select a group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration you need. FLIP FLOP FUN. BREATHTAKING OCEAN VIEW FROM BALCONY, 65\"TV, SHOWER SPA, KINGBED has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
- Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Document any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your life at home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to drive more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
