Tricks and tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a rental home:
- To find the best value, shift your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Choose your vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. FLIP FLOP FUN. BREATHTAKING OCEAN VIEW FROM BALCONY, 65\"TV, SHOWER SPA, KINGBED has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is often available online. If not, reach out to the property manager before reserving your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the host's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Record any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
