How to get the best vacation rental experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is an excellent way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, selecting, and booking yourrental home:
- Start by choosing vacation dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. FLIP FLOP FUN. BREATHTAKING OCEAN VIEW FROM BALCONY, 65\"TV, SHOWER SPA, KINGBED has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the host before you reserve the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
Additional considerations:
- Add the owner's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to stimulate new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
