Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

How to get the best value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Reserve your vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Selecting the perfect rental in Myrtle Beach:

  • Select a group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Harbour Lights Resort in Myrtle Beach, SC for Bike Week! #2 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property owner before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what is best for your vacation.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
  • If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Store the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the property manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
