Rental home booking tips:
Money saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Planning, selecting, and booking the perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Begin by selecting your a vacation week and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Heated pools and direct oceanfront at Coral Beach has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you book your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
- If your family is bringing pets, search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Add the host's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Record any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peace. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to compel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
