Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

Sticking to a rental budget:

  • The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To book the best rental within your budget, we suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Some owners offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to pick the perfect rental home in Myrtle Beach:

  • Choose vacation dates and budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Heated pools and direct oceanfront at Coral Beach has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property manager before reserving the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what is suitable for your family.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Tips for a fantastic stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
