Tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Sticking to your budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best rental home within budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Choose dates and max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Heated pools and direct oceanfront at Coral Beach has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. Otherwise, email or call the host before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you crave, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- To make sure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the host immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to propel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
