Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips:
How to get the best rental home value:
- The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the most suitable rental for your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have offers and deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Filter your search:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Home with THE View - Oceanfront - Maison Sur Mer has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the host before you reserve the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
Some things to know before you go:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas during check in. text the property manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
