How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the largest rental home within your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Make a plan and pick the best Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Immaculate Ocean View Suite!-Caravelle Resort 1004-Sleeps 6 Guests! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before you book the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your group.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of issues.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Upon arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to inspire future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
