Our top Vacation rental booking tips:
Getting the best rental value:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To get the best value, change your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm weather, , and reduced traffic.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your Search:
- Choose a group leader, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Inlet Serenity w\/ Pool, near Beach, Water-view has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the host before reserving the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you crave, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the host's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the host immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to inspire future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
