Tricks and tips for getting the best vacation home experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, consider shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Select dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Inlet Serenity w\/ Pool, near Beach, Water-view has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Tips for a smooth stay:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. message the rental manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to compel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
