Tricks and tips to get the perfect rental home experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To book the best vacation home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for local shops and restaurants.
Make a plan and choose the bestrental home:
- Choose vacation week and maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Large Condo- Beautiful Views of the Pool, Courtyard and Ocean, 2 Balconies! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property owner before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or charges may be applied to your contract.
Some things to know before you go:
- We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Call the property manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
