Finding the best vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the largest vacation home within budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
Planning and picking your prefect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- First, have your group choose a vacation week and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Luxury Ocean View Studio, 18th Floor at Bayview Resort, Myrtle Beach has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Does your family require unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Tips for your stay:
- Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the property manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to compel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
