Tips to get the very best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Finding your perfect rental:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To get the most suitable rental within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Begin by choosing vacation dates and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Luxury Ocean View Studio, 18th Floor at Bayview Resort, Myrtle Beach has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you book the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or may be applied to your invoice.
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Record any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
