Our top Myrtle Beach rental home tips and tricks:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- Book your Myrtle Beach rental property in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose and book the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Myrtle Beach Mecca, HEATED private pool, by the beach has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. message the rental manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
