Tips and Tricks to get the optimal vacation property experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and picking the rightrental home:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Myrtle Beach Resort Unit 4111 - Ideal Beach Getaway has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- If your group is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you love, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Tips to have a wonderful stay:
- Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many issues.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the host immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
