Tips and Tricks for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, shift your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, , and reduced traffic.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Selecting and booking yourrental:

  • Start by selecting vacation dates and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Myrtle Beach Resort Unit 4111 - Ideal Beach Getaway has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property manager before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.

More considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • During check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
