Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the largest rental within budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Finding the best vacation home:
- Select your vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Ocean Forest Villas Unit C301 - Ocean view has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before you reserve your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is right for your group.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Advice for a great stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many concerns.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Upon arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to inspire more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
