Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Getting the best rental value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the most suitable rental within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Some property management companies offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain discounts for local tours and attractions.
How to choose the perfect vacation rental:
- First, have your group agree to a vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. 1st floor Condo, 2 BD; 2 BR, On the Beach at APATBI, 9560 Shore Drive has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you book the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation family.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
More tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your life at home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to propel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
