How to find the best vacation property experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best vacation home within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities.
- Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to pick the best vacation rental:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Newly Remodeled 2BR Great Views, Pools, Low Floor! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available online. Otherwise, email or call the host before you book your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or applied to your agreement.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
Tips for a smooth stay:
- Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many concerns.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
