Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Sticking to a budget:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, consider changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning and choosing the perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Newly Remodeled 2BR Great Views, Pools, Low Floor! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before reserving the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your invoice.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Make a record of any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great feedback to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
