Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips and tricks:
Finding the best value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Filter your search:
- Select vacation dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Newly Renovated Ocean Front Condo, Modern Deco, Central MB 50” Smart TV has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the host before you book your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is best for your trip.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if there is a dispute.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
