Tips and Tricks for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Planning, picking, and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Ocean Dunes Villas #22, stay close to the ocean has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is best for your vacation.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or could be applied to your contract.

More tips for your stay:

  • Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Upon check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few issues.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
