Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, shift your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- Some owners offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Narrow your Search:
- Choose a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Ocean Dunes Villas #22, stay close to the ocean has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking pages. If not, call the property manager before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you simply love, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
Have a fantastic stay:
- We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- During check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to drive future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
