Rental booking tips:
Finding your perfect rental:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To find the best value, try shifting your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Filter your search:
- First, have your group commit to dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Ocean Front Condo. Just steps from the beach. With Ocean View Balcony. has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Call the property manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a great time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
