How to find the best vacation rental experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- First, have your group commit to date ranges and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Ocean Lakes - Site MH146 Spacious 4BR\/2BA w\/ Complimentary Limo Golf Cart! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what is right for your vacation group.
- Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
Additional considerations:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. message the rental manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
