Myrtle Beach rental home tips and tricks:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your rental search:
- Select dates and spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Ocean Lakes Beautiful Custom Built home has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property manager before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
Have a great stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the rental manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a excellent vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
