- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.

Tips for a fantastic stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the rental manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
