Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
Money saving strategies:
- The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the largest rental within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Finding the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Ocean Lakes Site V-7 3Bdrm\/2bath sleeps 7, Limo cart has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before booking the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your group.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More tips for your visit:
- Get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many difficulties.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
- At Check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
