Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips:
Get the most from your budget:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your vacation in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and picking the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Select a group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Ocean Reef Resort - Direct Oceanfront Studio - Nicely Updated! Perfect for 2-4 guests! Unit 303 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the host before you reserve the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of issues.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- To make certain that no damages are linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. E-mail the rental manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
